Reacting to someone else's loss.

So there will come a time in everyone's life where a friend, or partner will lose someone close to them - this article doesn't just relate to people passing away, it's possible to grieve for the loss of someone who's still alive, just not a part of our lives anymore.

Whether that's a parent, sibling, other half, close friend, grandparent, anyone.

10 steps to taking your camera off Auto.

Get to grips with your DSLR in 10 simple steps!

So recently I've been asked by a few people how to take that first step to understanding a DSLR, whether you're a hobbyist photographer, about to start studying or simply wanting to understand a little more, here are my top 10 tips on how to start.

I won't be tailoring this to a specific model but I will be using my Nikon D800 as a basis to explain from; and I'll be keeping everything as simple and "idiot proof" as possible!

Hope it helps!

Also, if I had something like this to refer to and explain it to me when I first started out it would have felt so much nicer - it's often hard to ask for help, especially in such a technically heavy industry. You can easily be made to feel stupid, whether by yourself or someone else. But never be afraid of even asking for help over the most simple things! Even I have to refer back to these elements regularly to make sure I'm developing and changing structures.

Creating As Therapy

So I've spent a large proportion of my life photographing things, and very nearly forgot that I love to draw!
Few people in my life know that when I was little I desperately wanted to be a fashion designer, I used to spend hours drawing and illustrating outfits and the weirdest thing I ever did was repeatedly draw the creepy twins from Rugrats to the point where I forced my parents to have it on a mousemat

Sometimes the best thing is to QUIT!

I got my A Level results EIGHT years ago.

First off that's scary, but now here's a little reassurance for those of you going off to uni, and a reminder that decisions aren't set in stone, I'm going to tell you a little bit about my journey through three universities and show that it's okay if you make the wrong choices!

My results off the top of my head were:

Photography: A
Media: A
Philosophy: B
Fine Art: C
English Lit: D (lol) Good job that one didn't matter...
